Israel sounding Annapolis` death knell
Speaking on the official Voice of Palestine radio, Erekat said the Zionist military operation in the northern city of Nablus, which is continuing for the third day in a row, "is a systematic process to destroy the Palestinian Authority and government and to destroy efforts to enforce the rule of law and the peace process."
"What Israel is doing is destroying all that the Annapolis conference has achieved, destroying the Bush visit before it even starts and destroying hopes to make 2008 a year of peace and reaching a treaty."
The US President George W Bush will visit occupied Palestine next week in an attempt to boost peace efforts created by last November`s international peace conference held in Annapolis, Maryland, which called for reaching a final peace settlement between the Zionist regime and the Palestinians by the end of this year.
The Zionist regime launched a large-scale military operation in Nablus on Thursday, which has resulted in the death of several Palestinian fighters and civilians.
