Ceremonies
government of usurpation, repression and forgery. And its members are impersonating the minister titles and do not enjoy any legal legitimacy. Besides, in its introduction that talked about the illegitimacy of any authority that violates the charter of the coexistence, the Taif constitution stated this issue.
The government, trying to get away with its session that agreed on the international court draft after the resignation of the ministers of an entire sect from it, keeps insisting that it seeks dialogue and the continuation of deliberation with the return of the ministers. But its fixed slogan that mirrors its practices says: discuss and confer as you like and we will act as we like. What is the meaning of dialogue and conferment when the illusive majority monopolizes critical decisions that touch the past, present and future of the country? What is the meaning of dialogue and accord when the illusive majority monopolizes the authority and decisions together as well as refuses any real participation of the country’s main parties? What does it mean when a main sect departs entirely the government while its premier does not even blink an eye and proceeds with the cabinet’s agenda as if nothing has happened?
The government began the second chapter of the series of conspiracy when it washed its hands of its ministerial declaration, and adoptively not desirably delivered the enemy threats, as well as conspired against its nation by placing obstacles before the arriving aid. For further satisfaction, it did not make any move to remedy the wounds of its citizens and ease their ordeal. Instead, it worked with outstanding dedication, which is documented through its foundations, on thwarting the efforts to relief the people and supply them with aid. It also worked on blackmailing the charitable organizations and tried to impose coercive payment on them to pass some aid and disallow other. With all these actions, the White House and the US administration officials praised and commended Saniora.
The Februarist government of Saniora violated several constitutional prohibitions and employed forgery in all its decisions as well as blinded the public and misled the people through all its statements. It also violated the constitution for the first time when it insisted on holding the cabinet’s session after the ministers of a main sect of the country resigned. This way it violated the charter of coexistence. It violated the constitution for a second time when it confiscated the authorities of the president whose authorities have been stipulated by the constitution pertaining to confining the approval of the international conventions to the president alone after which they would be presented to the Prime Minister. On the other hand, protesting that the president is not recognized by the UN is rejected because the president visited the UN recently and gave his speech as the president of a state as well as met its officials. Besides, he received the accreditations of several ambassadors of the new suzerain countries and bid farewell to a number of them as part of the ordinary framework of his job as president.
Saniora’s government violated the constitution for a third time when it disabled the Constitutional Council and prevented it from looking into the presented parliamentary contestations. It violated the constitution for the fourth time when it disturbed the sectarian balance by unjustly dividing the authorities and the representations of all the sects. We will not discuss other details that do not lessen in importance or seriousness such as that of the financial expenditure with its avoidance in approving the budget until now.
Besides, this government closed its ears and would not listen to any just word even if it came from unbiased and wise parties known for their credibility such as the call that was launched by the former premiers among the honest Sunni leaders that called on Saniora to suspend the cabinet’s sessions. Suddenly, Saniora replies by falsely accusing them of calling him to defuse the foundation of the council of ministers. This was nothing but misleading and falsification again and again.
The opposition is demanding the government, which claims to be representing the majority, to hold early parliamentary elections in order to go to the ballots for a decision. This is part of the core of the democratic action. However, the Februarist government replied, relying on a false majority, saying that this was a political coup receiving Syrian-Iranian orders. The opposition demands participation in the government, and Saniora replies saying that this is the despotism of the minority. The opposition confirms its approval to the international court request providing that the authorities of this court be studied and its missions be limited in the way that will not conflict with the national sovereignty. However, the government replies by accusing the opposition that it does not want the international court.
This government hit the record in violating the constitution and misleading the public opinion as well as disabled the safe national life cycle to the limit where the demand for a national unity government, which tops the agenda of the Taif Accord as a prelude for a complete reform in Lebanon, became a source of its major fear.
This government must stand trial according to the rules of article 80 of the constitution because it is impersonating a title without any legitimacy at all. This government is downed, has been downed a long time ago, since it conspired against its nation. This government is dead. All we have to do is wait the date of its burial, knowing that the ceremonies have begun.
